According to the July 20, 1911 edition of the Panama City Pilot, a child of Mr. and Mrs DW (David Willis) Raffield had fallen into the water and drowned on Wettappo Creek, and this likely was the brother Willis my father spoke of as drowning as a toddler.

There may have been another spouse between Mary Frances and Rosa Lee, but I have no data on her, just a vague recollection of her being mentioned.

*After William J. Raphel-Raffield-Rayfield, Sr. moved to Georgia, he became known as William, Sr. in Sumter County, South Carolina.

**She has been misidentified variously as Selemnathy, Selemnaty, Selena, and Solemnity, but official records confirm her name was Selemni. This is a Celtic literary surname, consistent with the Jordan family being highly literate, and being a foreign name, both figuratively and literally, it would have been susceptible to transliteration by local folks.
