My McIntire line... we have done the 67-marker ydna via FtDNA.

We are wondering if our Henry McIntire had a non-McIntire paternal event for a father to him. Because of a 1740s land purchase with a generation older Benjamin Blackstone we are wondering if possibly Blackstone was biological father to our Henry McIntire.  The other reason for our wondering is that Henry named one of his sons 'Benjamin'.  We have no clue who Henry Mc's father or mother is.

Should Blackstone surname appear in our non-McIntire surname matches IF Benjamin Blackstone was Henry McIntire's father??

Thanks for any help on this.

If you log onto the FTDNA web site and go to your profile and update:

1)  Under MyAccount - hit User Preferences link

2)  Under Set Preferences - radio button - I want my matches to be set against entire database (not the default value)

I leave this option on all the time if you are looking for NPE matches.

Next select matches link and you will now see matches for all surnames.
