L277 is official.

ISOGG has it labeled as "R1b1b2a2".

Testing for L277 is STILL an issue. Until Y chromosome sequencing is available it might be worthwhile to consider a WTY  effort for several L277+ individuals. Identify some testable SNPs downstream of L277.

A new result was added to Adrianno's spreadsheet a couple of hours ago :
      Assyrian (R-M269, L23+, L277+)

No y-search ID.

He has not been STR tested.

Any interest in getting a 67 STR test in place at FTDNA? Those results would both help in estimating the time when L277 appeared and also for providing evidence supporting multiple downstream clusters/subclades under L277.

First 12 markers were reported yesterday: 12-24-15-11-11-14-12-12-12-12-14-27
67 ordered.
Kit #213878.

Based on the first 12 markers: Among his closest matches on Ysearch were Sicilians/Italians, including his best match, Carbone (GD 1).  His two closest matches on YHRD were from Calabria and Sicily.
