I am looking for a Duncan or Archibald Crawford who was a nailer/blacksmith in Glasgow in the 1830s.
According to entries in a ship's diary, in 1838 he changed his identity to Robert Burges so that he could run off to  Australia with Mrs Robert Burges.
Our family has used the Burgess name ever since but DNA testing has proved we are really Crawford.
Now we are eager to find out more about our new identity.  Our only lead is his occupation (nailer) and residence in Glasgow in the 1830s (he migrated with Mrs Burges in 1838).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
