I have been looking and researching the Redhand of the O'Neill's . Why does the Adair coat of arms has the Red Hand? Since Coat of Arms are granted to one individual not a Family or clan . Any one knows who was this man?

I have heard the Adairs were part Cherokee Indian. This COULD be the cause and origin...Any comments? Sincerely, Merkel Walters, part Adair. Merkel Walters aka mertiger2@comcast.net
