I am very new to family research. I ran across this web site while trying to trace my Burtz ancestors. My grandmother was a Burtz, her father was John W. Burtz, his parents were Bright A. and Milbra Burtz. Bright's parents were Michael and Zilpha. I think he later or (earlier) married Hannah Inman. Michael, as far as we know is German. On a census record his birth date was listed as 1795. This is all that I know at this time.
