I am looking for ancestors of Andrew Ray, born about 1761 in Surry County, NC and died in 1829 in Greene County, GA.  Oldest son John H. Ray, born @1788, Greene County, GA administered estate (1829-31) naming  Nancy, John H., Sarah, Jerusha, Wiley, David, Margaret, Andrew, Isaac, Benjamin and Robert.  All except Nancy born in GA.  FTDNA  yDNA kit 530138 is male of 8th generation from Andrew.  It produced no matches to this point.  Andrew Ray drew land in the GA Revolutionary land lottery of 1827.  Service is likely in NC.  RAY is only spelling used in documents in 8 generations.
Would like help proving Revolutionary service of Andrew Ray beyond the land lottery and any hints as to his origins.  He is not one of TWO patriots named Andrew Ray currently approved by NSDAR.
The family used the names of these children for several generations, thus it is possible that Andrew's parents have one of the listed names.
