Hi,
I am totally confused about what mutations mean.  I have looked and found answers but I guess I need it to be broken down into very easy terms.  I feel so stupid but really want to understand it.  Is there someone out there that can help me.

Thank you,
Linda

Hi Linda,

DNA is made up of an enormously long series of so-called base-pairs.  There are only three kinds of them, six if you consider that they can be flipped end for end.  If a spontaneous change occurs is the series it is a mutation.
