I'm an African American and I've recently been told of my possible connection to the Dye family.  I've always thought that I knew my paternal great grandfather, but was recently told that Charles L. Dye of Kershaw County, SC produced a child with his slave mistress, Anne Perry.  That child was James Perry (Dye).  James then produced a child with Florie (Floride) Perry.  That child was my grandfather, Matthew Perry. Matthew is the only person in this line that I knew personally.  All of my research so far points me to the pedigree of Thomas Dye, father of Abraham Dye, father of Thomas Dye, father of Charles L.Dye, father of James (Jean) Dye.  Can anyone help me go forward or offer any suggestions. I've had my DNA analyzed and my yDNA haplogroup is I1a, which is very similar to that on your DNA page.  HELP!!
