We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down. 

If you ARE A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, send your pedigree by email to at  The pedigree will then be posted on the Surname Project's Patriarchs Page by or sent to the Project’s Administrator.

Please include the following:
•       Name of project
•       Kit Number
•       Name of person posting pedigree
•       Email address to be posted with pedigree
•       Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
•       List each succeeding generation, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

Smead pedigree of Cathy Young at

William? Smead. Wife, Judith Stoughton

William Smead b: abt 1635 d: abt 1729. Wife, Elizabeth Lawrence

John Smead b: 1673 d: 1720. Deerfield, Mass. Wife, Anna Weld

John Smead b: 1702 d: 1747. Wife, Mary Allis who died 1747 on the march to Canada

Elihu Smead b: 1732 d: after 1810. Wife, Sarah ?

John Smead, The Second   b: Bet. 1756 - 1774 d: Aft. 1818. Wife, Anna ?   
NOTE: I know that Elihu C. Smead's parents were John and Anna Smead of Windsor, VT.
Above is the only "unclaimed" John Smead of Windsor who I have found. There is no evidence of his wife in land records.
