From an email sent by Barbara Moldofsky Krueger [bkrue AT]:

My great-grandmother was Chai (Haja) LIN - known location Dvinsk late 1800's?
She supposedly married Hatzkel BALLONOFF (PAOLONOV)

Daughter Ettel (b 1876 Dvinsk? d 1947 New York )and twins Aron (b 1880 Dvinsk? d 1950's? Cleveland, Ohio) and a girl twin who died at birth (1880)

Question was Ettel born a LIN or a BALLANOFF.

Ettel (LIN? ) BALLONOFF married Ischia BORTZ in Dvinsk.  They had a son Chuna (b1901 Dvinsk)  and a daughter Riva (b 1904 Dvinsk).  The three came to America in 1905.  Ischia BORTZ came to America in 1904.

Ettel  and Ischia BORTZ had Hyman (b 1906 d1909 Malden, MA), Florence 1908, Louis 1910, Anne 1912, Minnie 1915, Ida 1917, Benjamin 1918, Jacob 1921.
