Pedigree of Dave Burns. Kit#226866

John ("B" his mark) Burns b.1681 PA?Scotland? d.1760 PA , m ?Ann Jonnat?
Laird Burns b.abt1716 PA  d1784 in SC.  m Jannet Pock
John Burns b1740 d.1782  m Mary ??
John Burns b1774 in SC, d.1856 in Miss. m Margaret McFadden 1767-1850 *
William B Burns b.1802 Ga. d 1851 Miss. m Amy Wallace b? d.1802 Miss.
Bennett W Burns b.1822 TN. d.1892 TX. m Eliz Lumb
Henry Burns b1856 Miss. d.1940 TX m Melissa Lum
Walter L Burns b.1882 TX d.1960TX m Nicia Burns 1889 d.1977 TX.

*1774 John Burns&Mag McFadden had abt 12 children. One of the sons was named Matthew LAIRD Burns b.1797 d.1870.
To me this suggests at least the possibility that 1774 John is a descendent of 1716 Laird Burns son of 1681 John "B"Burns of PA.

Questions Comments invited. (:

Pedigree of my father Robert Milton Burns - kit # 191544

James Burns, Esq. b. 1740 PA, d. 1814 Derry, PA, m. Elizabeth McGill (or Magill)
Robert Burns, b. 1771 PA, d. 1830 Juniata or Corsica, PA, m. Sarah Turner
Liberty Burns, b. 1816 PA, d. 1864 Battle of Wilderness, Spotsylvania, VA, m. Elizabeth Bish
Lorenzo Dow Burns, b. 1859 Jefferson Co., PA, d. 1935 Cuyahoga Falls, OH, m. Mary Rebecca Mason
David Argyle Burns, b. 1884 Windham, OH, d. 1974 Kirkland, WA, m. Ada Marian Howe
Robert Milton Burns, b. 1921, Cuyahoga Falls, OH

My father, Robert Milton Burns, grew up in the same household as his father David and his grandfather, Lorenzo.  Civil War pension records tie Lorenzo to his father Liberty.  DAR records tie Liberty to his father Robert.  Two Pennsylvania histories tie Robert to his father James, Esq.

A 1775 will links this James Burns, Esq. to a John Burns Senior of Hamilton Township, PA, who bequeathed James a parcel of land (for a price) that he himself had purchased from a John Burns who had died earlier.  I believe this earlier John Burns may well be the John "B" Burns buried in 1760 in the Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church cemetery in Letterkenny Township, in what is now Franklin County, PA.  Both John "B" and John Burns Senior owned the same parcel of land, originally warranted to John "B" in 1746.  Given their same surname and ownership of the same land, it's hard to believe they weren't related.  There simply weren't that many Burnses in the area at the time!

Personal Pedigree for Julia Curry Amico (b. 1966) Kit A018687
- contact
(I know you're looking for male DNA but this may be helpful for other reasons - I will try to get my brother to submit a sample for DNA testing - but he does not have the Burns surname)

John Burns (or O'Beirne), born abt 1850 in Roscommon, married Anna Feeley (or Fihily or Feehily), possibly died in 1880

Patrick J. Beirne born in March 1969 or 1972 in Roscommon, m. Anna Byrne (maiden name, possible cousin) in 1893, d. March 22, 1926 in Chicago

          Julia Veronica Burns, b. Oct 16, 1899 in Chicago (brother Edward b. 1897, sister Mary b. 1895), m. Walter Dillon 1923, d. 1992 in Chicago

               Corinne Dillon, b. 1924; m. Lavern Block 1943

                    Sharon Block, b. 1944; m. Dallas Curry 1965

I was very close to my great grandmother Julia Burns Dillon, who shared information about her family being from Roscommon and Mayo.  She also mentioned that her parents were 2nd cousins.

UPDATE 6 March 2016: I have taken Edward Byrne and Rachel? out of the equation for the time being, as I can not prove my connection as of yet.

I have found the marriage of Peter Byrne and Mary Toole as well. They were married 14 May 1863 in Kilsaran, Louth, Ireland. I found baptism church records for all of their children.

I am still searching records for Peter's birth. I don't know if he was born in 1825 or not... or later. I found an Ancestry tree that lists Peter and Mary's marriage in London. That is incorrect. It may not be for their Peter and Mary, but they also list my great grandfather and his siblings. So, I know that part of their tree is incorrect. I tried to contact them, but they don't have their mail open for correspondence. :(

I also found a 1901 census record that list Mary as widowed living with 4 of her children: Peter, Patrick, Joseph, and Lizziebeth. They are all in their 20s and none are married at this time. The house is 79 at Castlebellingham. Still trying to find any records on Peter's death. As per the marriage certificate of his son, John (my great grandfather).. he is listed as deceased, so I know he died before 1892. I have not found any death records of Mary at this time.

I find the family is located in the areas of Castlebellingham, Milestown, Kilsaran. But many married at the Catholic church in Ardee, which is a distance away.

The search continues...............

I also wish more folks would come on this forum.......

RECENT FIND ON: Edward Byrne - BIRTH ABT 1806 • Ireland - DEATH Unknown (3rd great-grandfather) (NOTE: not sure if this is my relation. So this guy is NOT CONFIRMED, only based on info I researched. Also, the Rachel connected to him, not sure if it's his wife or daughter.)

Nic... I wonder if your BYRNE could be connected to mine?! The message above this one, I posted my BYRNE(S) lineage, as I know it now. I am stuck on PETER BYRNE, who was my great great grandfather. I only know his name, as he was listed deceased on the marriage certificate of my great grandparents John Byrne and Catherine Dunne. Would love to know if you think we could have some sort of connection.

Thank you!
