My maternal grandfather and his first cousins went by all of the surnames listed in the subject line. I believe teh family came form Berdichev which is currently a part of Ukraine. Some friends of my grandparents claim we are related to the poet Saul Tchernikovsky. Any help in refuting or validating this would be appreciated. The family I know that decent from my great grandfather live in the United States and France.

My family line also thinks we're related to Saul Tchernichovsky (the poet).  We have a picture of our grandfather Isaiah Tchernichovsky with Saul.  Our name got changed to Chernoff after emigration to US in early 20th century.
