I am looking for information that will help me connect with any McFarlanes that lived in Middlesex, England around 1800 and earlier. My G/gfather, John, was born in 1842 at Shoreditch, and his father, John, was born at Islington in 1802. John sr married Harriet Mallett in 1826 in England, and John jr married Emily Gwinnett in Australia. I believe John jr was shipwrecked off King Island in 1866 whilst coming to Australia. I am trying to verify the family link between the two Johns. I would like to trace my ancestry back to either Scotland or Ireland to verify what has generally been believed by my father and his family. In my Dna testing I am R1b1c and stuck on the Iberian peninsula. I appreciate any help that can be sent my way.
Brian McFarlane, Melbourne, Australia.
