My Grandfather, Gregory Kunkel, born in 1879, immigrated from Germany to Brooklyn NY in 1883 or 1886 perhaps from the Spessart Mt region of Germany (Franconia). That would make him 4 or 7 years old on arrival.  He became a printer/type setter for the Brooklyn Standard Union as of 1914.  His son, my father, was one of 9 brothers and two sisters.    We have no record of his parents arrival in the USA.  I have deposited my DNA analysis allele file with the Kunkle list and would like to try working with records to find any other relatives who emmigrated in the same event.
