We invite you to submit your "Pedigree" for this Surname.   Our Surname Project is primarily interested in your Paternal line, as surnames are passed down from father to son, just as the yDNA is passed down. 

If you ARE A MEMBER of this Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, send your pedigree by email to at  The pedigree will then be posted on the Surname Project's Patriarchs Page by or sent to the Project’s Administrator.

Please include the following:
•       Name of project
•       Kit Number
•       Name of person posting pedigree
•       Email address to be posted with pedigree
•       Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor
•       List each succeeding generation, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)

Hi, my name is John Smeltzer.   I live in Fort Collins, Colorado.    My maternal grandmother was Bethene Seward.  She was born 1908 in Marengo, Illinois.   Her father was Frank Otis Seward b. 1882.  Died Stuart, Iowa.   His father was Frank Benjamin Seward b. 1852.   His father was Ephraim Hewitt Seward b. 1823 Middletown, Vermont VT. - died Marengo, Illinois.   Ephraim's father was Jedediah Seward b. 1763 New Haven, Connecticut CT.  Jedediah's father was Asher Seward b. 1726 Guilford, New Haven, CT.   Asher was the son of Daniel b. 1692 also in Guilford, New Haven, CT.   And Daniel was the son of John Seward b. 1653 also in Guilford, New Haven, CT.
