Dear Squires Administrators

It looks as if I am the first Squires to join this group.  I have a 67 marker test registered with FTDNA and look forward to finding any match.  Using the Sorenson site, I have attempted to match my YDNA with other "Squires" with little luck

I have looked over the pedigree that has been posted as a sample and was amused to discover that it is of the Virginia Squires.  Why amused?  After the second World War, my father returned to the United States on a troop carrier.  When they finally reached port, each soldier's name was called and recorded before they could disembark.  The name Squires was called and my father stepped forward as did one other.  William Squires the sargient clarified.  Both stayed where they were.  Two William Squires were on the boat: One from Boston and one from Virginia.
