Greetings;
I am "V-1" in the DNA results.
My earliest known ancestor is my 2nd great grandfather, Chauncey Valentine b 1809 in Glastonbury CT (the name is spelled "Volentine" in the 1850 Census, but I think this must have been an error; there's no indication of anyone else in the family ever spelling it that way).
I suspect that he was connected with the Lancashire/Massachusetts Valentines, but I haven't been able to find the "missing link".
Thanks  -JR Valentine

Charles Edward doesn't match up with any of the CT Valentines I have records of, but yhere might be a connection further back...?

jval,

Saw your post and thought I would write.

My G-Grandmother was a Valentine. I have a Bible from 1820 which lists family as Volentine. Then after about 1838, they used the spelling Valentine.

My research is at www.pitgear.com

Thanks for trying. I only have My Valentines back to 1854 Brooklyn.
From there forward to Norwalk, CT. I do not have anything on my
G-Grandfather other than his name Charles E Valentine and he was in Brooklyn in 1878 at his sons marriage.

You have quite a site and are far ahead of me!
