My cousin submitted his dna last year.  We are many, many generation off from the others in the Project.  I am hoping someone will join who will match us closer.  So, all Powell's out there, please join and order the kit.

Hi Becca I'm Bird and new to this. My grandfather's surname was supposedly Powell. However he had a near Perfect Cohan Y- DNA.

Becca and Bird, check out http://www.smgf.org/ychromosome/search.jspx, Currently there are 14 Powells who have submitted DNA samples and their pedigree charts. Maybe you are related.

And 83 currently at http://home.flash.net/~parino/powell-surname-dna-project.htm

No Y STR results local my Nottinghamshire UK Powells so I am reluctant to shell out a substantial sum yet. I await my SMGF sample (hope its no 15!) to be posted.
