I've just applied for DNA testing, and will start to monitor this forum.

My Thacker family first appeared in Connecticut and NY state in the mid-1700s (Stephen and Zulima Thacker). We don't know from where they originated. A major goal for my testing is to determine whether our family is connected in any way to the large groups of Virginia Thacker families who were documented a hundred years earlier. (One opinion, that my family came from the Massachusetts Thacher/Thatcher family, is undocumented and improbable.)

I have considerable information on my family history, and am glad to answer questions about them. I will send family data to the pedigree page after I gain a little experience here. - Brian
