I have a cousin Joel Bermudez Mercado, who has done extensive research. And has also done his DNA test. He states that our common Ancestor goes back to the early 1700's to Caomo then onto Utuado,Puerto Rico where our descendants have been since. Possibly one of the brothers who settled in the Dominican Republic 1690's.  It can be safe to assume that from that point they came from Spain. I will also be taking the 37 DNA test. There's much study that I need to do to know how to read the results. I will study this website extensively.
