Congratulations Frank on getting your sample returned.  Now that we have your results, it looks highly likely that your Daniel Larkin came from County Galway and the large clusters of Larkin's there.

I have not been able to find out much information about my maternal grandmother's family who immigrated to Ottawa Ontario in the 1860's. The family story is that they may have come from Cork Co. Ireland and sailed to Montreal Quebec.  Michael Phillip Larkin was born soon after the ship arrived in port.

Pedigree of Margaret Mary "Maisie" Larkin.

Matthew Larkin b: abt 1840 m. Helen "Nellie" Egan
Michael Phillip Larkin b. 25 Nov 1860 Montreal Que d. 24 Feb 1922 Ottawa Ont m. Johannah "Hannah"  O'Connell
"Maisie" Larkin b. 30 Apr 1896 Ottawa Ont d. 4 Aug 1984 Ottawa Ont  m. Daniel "Roy" Carroll.
