HI, my name is Ray Conn. I am from Scotland and moved to the USA 6 years ago. I had my YDNA done at 37 markers, no matches. I am J2 or J-M172. I am surprised with no matches as my alleged Father's family came from Ireland. My DNA with Ancestry says 45% Irish. I got my Nephew to take the test and he comes up as a 1st cousin. I know that my sister was from my alleged father. I have compared his results to mine and found many matches, but not sure how to work out what parent they belong to.
Recently, I get a note from Ancestry re the Circles. I have 2. They name a Morrison family from Arkansas a Thomas Calvin Morrison as a possible 70% ancestor. I am not sure what parent this will be from. My MTDNA is H18. I have found some doubles on Ancestry and Family Finder.

Forgot to post my 37 markers. Let me know if anyone is close. My wife thinks I'm a one off.

I also received a designation of J-M172 but no matches within 4 generations for the 5 matches sent to me.  I assume that means zero matches in truth.  My oldest known ancestor was b. Kentucky USA.

go to gedmatch.com and upload you data.
then hit "one to many comparison".

I (J2M172) found a lot of relatives there.

My 2nd cousin, Mark Melroy,  tested (kit #F436378) and  his y-dna haplo was J-M172 also.  I compared his 37 markers to Ray Conn and there are 12 that are identical.  We go back to Dunkin Melroy/McElroy from Haycock Twp., Bucks Co., PA.
