CX-1 CX-1 George Collins, b c1820 VA
 348879 James A. Collins, b 1857 and d 1917
115071 Jesse Randall Collins, b. 1818-1820 in NC
26404 Jacob Nicely Indian Property being Sold google it
 324280 Charles Coleman Collins, b. 1832 and d. 1914
183106 John McKinley Collins, 1858-1930, Spartanburg Co.,
 171784 M Collins
 211119 Not Provided

What does the CX-1 denote, as opposed to simply a C without the X?

Another thing:  Who can tell me more about Kit #26404?  I did the Google search.  I still do not understand.  Who was tested for this one?  Any contact info available?

Hello VLJ,

The codes you see (C-, CX-, etc) were used for a long time before World Families started using the kit numbers.  These codes are being maintained for anybody who has been relying on them.  You can safely ignore the obsolete codes and just look at the kit numbers.

26404 should be ignored as it is not a Collins surname kit and the tester does not claim to have Collins in his direct paternal line.  If that match is showing up in your FTDNA matches then your match will have contact information.

I am sorry for the confusion having the non-Collins kits mixed up in the results.  Over the coming months I hope Terry and I can succeed in tightening the focus in this project to include only the Collins (and variant) surname kits and of those with a very recent historical connection to Collins (e.g., Goins).  I've been wanting to do that for a while but it's taking me a lot longer to do things then I thought it would!  Feel free to contact me with any more questions.
