My direct grandfather was define like U4b3 (by FTDNA).
Here is a two HVRs.

His haptolype is:

HVR1: 16356C, 16519C
HVR2: 73G, 195C, 215G, 263G, 309.1C, 315.1C, 499A, 523.1C, 523.2A

His maternal line is from Russia, from the Bryansk region (Bezgodkovo village near Sevsk). The ancestors were monastery peasants.

I see the matches (by two HVRs) with the three Russians, two Lithuanians, one Carpathian Rusyn, one Romanian and with two unknown men.

Could you tell me anything about this Mt-haplogroup and haplotype?

Hi I just recently tested my maternal grandfather's younger sister, and per 23andme she is U4b, however 23andme doesn't test for U4b3, and she does carry 263G on the HVR-II, so I'm thinking she is likely U4b3, here is her information according to James Lick mitochondrial program:

HVR2: 73G 215G 263G 499A

CR: 750G 1438G 1811G 2706G 4418C 4646C 4769G 5999C 6047G 7028T 7403G 7705C 8860G 11467G 11696A 11719A 12308G 12372A 14620T 14766T 15693C

HVR1: 16129A 16356G (16519C)

Note however that 16356G is in fact 16356C, is not a flip, is just that 23andme reports it as a T=>G mutations instead of A=>C. She doesn't have anyone in her relative list(999+ people) with the U4b mt-DNA haplogroup, which seems to be very rare. It seems U4b3 is old because she carries 4 extra mutations 4418C 7403G 11696A 16129A, which is probably an underestimate since 23andme doesn't test the full mitochondrial genome. Relative to U4b she carries 5 extra mutations 4418C 7403G 11696A 16129A and 215G she actually happens to be one of the defining mutations of U4b3. Her last known ancestor is supposedly from Spain, but I have no idea where she might have really been from, thus far I've only seen a U4b3 from Russia, so it is very interesting, she does have a Russian match of 12 cM on her Chromosome 1, and so does my mother, they both carry the same segment.
