George Bender - Painter born 1740 Kirchardt, Baden and brought to Lancaster County, PA, by his father John Bender, settled in Cumberland County, PA, in 1771 then Washington Twp., Westmoreland County, PA, about 1783 where he died in 1817. Several members of this family have completed Y-DNA testing. Kit 89412

John Painter 1733 - 1808 was the administer of his father's estate, Jacob Penter who died in Williams Twp., Northampton County, PA, in 1752, married Eva Margaretha Erb and lived in different areas of Northampton County before moving to Franklin Twp., Westmoreland County, PA, about 1772. John Painter had a son John Painter Jr. who married Molly Kunkle and they had a son born John 1799. Evidence points to this son John being John Painter 1799 - 1881 who married Sarah Charleton and settled in North Mahoning Twp., Indiana County, PA, where he had a large family.

Descendants of George Painter 1740 - 1817 and John Painter 1799 - 1881 have a 37 marker Y-DNA match that shows a close relationship. Another Painter descendant from a different branch of the John Painter 1733 - 1808 family is needed to verify that the two families are related due to some doubts in the paper trail.

There was a Jacob Bender born 1699 in Kirchardt, Baden, who disappeared from the town records. The Ship Elizabeth qualified in Philadelphia on 30 October 1738, aboard were passengers from the Kirchardt area including Ulrich Raudenbauch from nearby Steinsfurt, also listed was Hans George Petery 33 and Hans Jacob Bener aged 38. In 1752 George Peter was paid money by Jacob  Penter's estate.

A Y-DNA match with another branch of the John Painter 1733 - 1808 family will prove John Painter 1799 - 1881 belongs to this family, and that the family originated in Kirchardt, Baden, or not.
