my father (surname Alford) tested as I-M253 and he only has one other match for Loyd. I have been in contact with the match's sister. She gave me some Virginia info but together we have not been able to make the connection. I believe I know how my father ended up with the Alford name (believe he is an Alford on the maternal line). The story happens several generations ago. Would like to hear what you have learned. Rockingham is interesting. As far as we know, there are no Rockingham connections. Our Loyds go back to Yorktown in the 1600s. I will have to look up the info to remember the names of the parents who left England for Yorktown. Some of the children went to Ohio and on to California.
