My first post - apologies if a little wild.  I just wondered if it would be possible (once we get a more representative sample of them) to compare Y-DNA of the Essex Harringtons to see if they are mostly related to a common ancestor.

If so, would it then be worthwhile to compare the DNA of Harrington descendants of the Exton branch of the family, to see if it would be possible to prove/disprove the link between the two (as claimed in the Visitations of the 17th century)?

I thought this might be especially interesting to those American descendants of Robert Harrington (who may be related to the Essex UK side).
