Does anyone in these forums come from the mtDNA line U7?  In particular... does anyone of deep European background come from the U7 line?

This maternal line does not seem to be very common in Europe, however... it does exist there, as in the case of my father (who's Lithuanian mother was a U7).

I am U7a5, and we are pretty rare.  Think it goes back to the Caucausus area; likely Jewish.

Hello Arnold.

Where does your mother (or your mother's mother's line) come from in Europe?
