Hi everyone just found this site while searching as I have just got my results back from 23&me and found out this is my maternal line. I'm from the uk and was trying to find out more about this haplogroup as it seems to be a bit rarer in the uk. I was always curious of my mothers roots as she has darker skin. what you expect isn't always obvious as my father was very fair skinned and burnt as soon as he looked at the sun. The biggest shock is that his  haplogroup is North African/Balkan based and that his relatives most probably came the uk as a Roman legionnaire. Totally fascinating so I'd like to find out how my mums side came to the uk.

Looking for a Robert Paul (born about 1850-1860) supposedly born in Pennsylvania.
His wife is thought to be Ellen Sweeley, but she is also known as Ella Matilda.  She later married a Fred Inghram.
Robert Paul's son, Harry E Paul, born about 1883-85, was supposedly born in Pennsylvania.
Harry E Paul married Blanche Murdy 1905, California.  Harry E Paul stated he was 27 years old, born in Pennsylvania on the license application.
Harry E Paul and Blanche had 2 sons: Robert Earl Paul and Roy Harry Paul (born Harry Roy Paul) and 1 daughter.
Roy Harry Paul is my father.

I cannot find ANY records for Harry E Paul other than the marriage license issued in California.
He went to WWI about 1917-1919, and never returned.

I also, do not find any records of a Robert Paul and Ellen Sweeley marriage or birth.
ANY information would be helpful.    Harry Paul,

Mike Howard
FTDNA Kit #410435
cocoabchnative@aol.com

Background: Mike's DNA testing shows multiple matches with EDM-project members and none with the Howard line. It appears that his g-g-grandmother Mary Thackston Howard was a neighbor of Andrew James Edmondson in the 1850 census for Forsyth county Georgia District 31.
Mike's haplotype Q-M242 is shared by several EDM-project members but none have provided pedigrees. Please send us your pedigrees so possible matches can be researched and validated.
Thanks!
