My paternal greatgrandmother was a POLLARD, Julia Elnora.  Her father was Noah and his father was Epaphroditus.  They emigrated from Vermont to New York State, Broome County.  Prior to that the family was from Great Britain.  I have recently come across some information which points to the possibility that the family may have been Jewish up to the time of the Inquisition in Europe and then melded themselves into the Protestant population for safety's sake.  Does anyone know anything about this remote possibility?

I have been looking for years for any information about my paternal grandfather, John Avery Pollard.  I know that he lived in Knoxville, TN but probably was not born there.  He married my grandmother, Minnie Ruth Wilmoth in 1919.  I also know that he might have had a brother named Jess Pollard.  I know that he was in the moonshine business in East Tennessee in the early 1900's.  I was told that he was killed in a knife fight in either Cincinatti or Chicago.  Very sketchy stuff.  If any of you have any information please let me know.  Thanks.

Well, still trying to find information about my grandfather, John Avery Pollard.  I do need to make one correction.  I remembered the uncle's name that dad talked about it was Jess Thompson not Pollard.  There was also a Tom Pollard.  I see from the posts that there were several Thomas Pollards.  Wonder if any of those could be related to my Tom Pollard.

I get so frustrated with trying to find my grandfather.  It seems that he didn't exist before he married my grandmother, Minnie Ruth Wilmoth in 1919.

Grandfather on my Mother's side was Jesse Witt Pollard . Last known address was Montvale, VA in Bedford County, VA. Married to Ethel Smith Pollard (second wife) and had four offspring w/ 2 wives. First wife died.
Children include Mabel Miller Pollard (Hawkins), Jessie Pollard (Richards),
Lewis Pollard, and Helen Pollard (Yearout).
Any info will be helpful to start search for family history.

I am seeking information on my great-grandfather, James Pollard, born 1842 at King & Queen County, VA and who died 1899 at Baltimore.  He served in the Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War, married to Susanne Bancroft Tyler Pollard, practiced law in Baltimore, and is now resting at Green Mount Cemetery at Baltimore.  He was the son of John Pollard and Juliet Jeffries Pollard -- and produced, with the help of his wife, Lulie, Gurdon and Juliet.

Juliet Jeffries Pollard Talton was my grandmother.
