Title: What does a project administrator do?
Post by: Marilyn Teaff Barton on November 28, 2006, 09:40:12 PM
Many people are very interested in starting or running their surname DNA project, but are not sure how much time or expertise it will take.? When people ask us about the functions of an administrator, here's what we tell them:

These are four main functions of the Project Administrator:
?   Managing your surname DNA project
?   Editing your project?s website
?   Posting pedigrees on your project?s website
?   Posting test results on your project?s website

You can choose to do all of them right away, or start by doing some of them.? It takes all of these functions to successfully manage your website, which may lead you to recruit a co-administrator to share the tasks. Remember, we will give you detailed instructions about posting on the website, sending welcome letters, and answering questions, and we will be available to assist whenever you need help

We try to make it as easy as possible for you to administer this project by providing:
?   easy access to the website
?   step by step instructions for carrying out the functions of the administrator
?   the flexibility of taking on one or two tasks to begin and adding more functions as you grow more comfortable with the job

If you are interested in being a project administrator, email us, or post on this site by clicking on reply.? We'll be in touch.
