Title: How did you find your surname DNA project?
Post by: Marilyn Teaff Barton on July 09, 2006, 11:56:28 AM
The fastest way to find a surname project is to search at The World's most complete Surname  DNA Project listing (http://worldfamilies.net/search/search.php), keeping in mind that there are many spelling variations of some surnames.? Most people who don?t initially find their surname project there try the variant spellings until they find a project.? However, there are many other ways that people find their surname projects, from family reunions to emails from genealogists.?

I started on this whole DNA thing when there was a posting on Genforum saying a project had started.
When I found there was no formal project going, I started our Surname Project.
To support it I wanted a home page that encouraged cooperation.
The answer was http://pbwiki.com/ where free sites allow users to add, remove, or otherwise edit and change all content.
