Title: DYS markers 437 & 439
Post by: DixiePeanut on October 04, 2005, 02:41:54 PM
Has anyone ever compared marker differences @ DYS loci 437 & 439 with others who have been tested in your family line?? If so, what were you told about this discrepancy?

Using Family Tree DNA for the testing for 37 markers, the result shows that there is only one number difference on each of these 2 markers, between my Paternal (Y-DNA) profile and the result of the closest familial match.?

What I'd like to know is --? At what approx. time frame is could we have had a common ancestor ?? Could it be as recent as 200 years ago, or less ?? If so, what % range of accuracy might there be when comparing our two lines ?

Result # 1-? ?DYS 437 = 14; and DYS 439 = 11? (mine)
Result # 2 -? Dys 437? -? 15; and DYS 439 =? 12? (his)

Thanks, DixieP
