This Family Project is started to:

1. Help researchers on common or related families work together to find their common heritage  (See the Patriarch Page)

2. Identify the DNA of the ancestor families and compile them and their lost branches into distinct genetic lineages through DNA matches

DNA projects can only track along the MALE family line from generation to generation as the male DNA does not combine the mother and father’s DNA. Female DNA changes with each generation as it combines both the mother and father’s DNA.

The DNA sample is obtained through a cheek swab; there is no blood involved. It is done at home, not at a clinic.

Why should you participate? We need to be able to better track the migration of the Whaley family, to determine how family lines are allied and help families break through their brickwalls.
