The Pritchard / Pritchett / Prickett DNA Project is open to all who wish to join without regard to what company was used to test their yDNA. There is no cost to join this project unless you have not DNA tested. Here are the two ways to join this DNA project.

1. If you have not already yDNA tested, please go to our project's How to Join page. There are detailed instructions on what to do if you wish to yDNA test and participate in this surname Project. Of course you may email the project's administrator at any time if you need help or more information.

2. If you already have tested with a different company, please use the contact link at the bottom of this page.  All you need to do is send an email to the project's volunteer administrator indicating your desire to join the project. The administrator will analyze your yDNA and check and see if you match anyone currently in the project.

Background Information

Our Project Goals

Surname yDNA testing is the newest tool available to genealogists. These tests can help genealogists verify their paternal ancestry (father's father's father's, etc) in a quick and easy way. This saves time, prevents mistakes, and provides invaluable data that can be obtained in no other way.

This DNA Project is seeking Pritchards and Pritchetts from everywhere in the world. Through yDNA analysis of the participants and along with conventional genealogical research, this project will help determine those members that share a common Pritchard or Pritchett male ancestor.

To participate all you need is a living male Pritchard or Pritchett relative willing to provide a simple, painless cheek-rubbing sample. It's especially important to start now if you have an elderly male Pritchard or Pritchett relative who’s DNA might be lost.

1. Help family researchers from common or related branches of Pritchard, Pritchett, Prichart, Prickett, Prichett, and Pritchart families work together to find their shared heritage.

2. Identify how the participants' families are connected, both genetically and through paper trails.

3. Identify and confirm genetic lineages of ancestral families and find genetic cousins in the United Kingdom, Europe or wherever they may be in world.

4. Publish on this Website all the Paternal Lines of our members to aid current and future genealogists in their research.

5. Actively recruit participants for the project, growing our marker matrix which will increase the likelihood that existing and new members will have a genetic match.
