Notes on Pedigrees
The following lines of descent are strictly those of Project participants. The Frame DNA Project no longer publishes untested lines on the Patriarch Page. However, we do encourage all Frame families from around the world to consider having representatives participate in the Project to test the various branches of their families. A well-documented pedigree validated by DNA testing is the ultimate objective of the serious family historian. Moreover, it is a valuable contribution towards unlocking the hidden past of the ancient Frame clan. To protect privacy, men representing their family in the Frame DNA Project are identified with a red ID code viz. F01. Tentative links are displayed in red text.
Where only one tester is known to descend from a particular Patriarch, the earliest ancestor will be shown at the top of the line in dark green. A single tester does not validate an entire pedigree. However, his results may prove that his direct paternal line is related to other currently unlinked families with the Frame surname. On the other hand,others shown in green such as HIRAM FRAME (1809),and NORMAN FRAME (1822), demonstrate where collateral branches of the same family have been tested.
A Genealogy link to a more detailed pedigree will eventually be included with most Lines of Descent on this page. These genealogies should not be perceived as being accurate and/or validated by DNA testing. They have been provided so that prospective Frame DNA Project participants may be able to identify pedigrees to which they connect and perhaps consider testing as a representative of a collateral branch. Some genealogies have been submitted by testers; others are from the Admin working files. Additional files have been shared by Frame researchers not connected with the Project.

The birth location of Samuel Frame is unknown, but he is first found as a farmer in Kripplebush, Town of Marbletown, Ulster County New York c1770 when his first child was baptized, auspices of the Reformed Church of Kingston. Their death records are under the auspices of the Episcopal Church of Kripplebush, and many of the family, including Samuel Frame and his spouse Mary Orr, are buried in North Marbletown Reformed Church, about 7 miles from Kripplebush. Samuel was described as 'an early settler of the Town'. The area was settled by the Dutch c.1680. [ Kingston and New Paltz History].

- You don’t have to be a test participant to post your family pedigree
- To submit your pedigree, click on "Pedigree" in the navigation bar at the top of your project's webpages, or "Add your Pedigree" on the Patriarchs Page. Either link will take you to the Pedigree Forum where you can post your pedigree.
- The project administrator posts the pedigrees on the Patriarch page in chronological order, linking families when possible. (As the project develops and genetic lineages emerge, projects may group the pedigrees by genetic lineage, folowed by those with no match and then by those with no test representative.)
- We recommend a stripped down pedigree for this page.
- Each ancestor’s information should fit on one line, and include name, birth date and birth place and wife’s name. (when all of the info is not available, a substitution is permitted.)
- The Pedigree is intended to allow a researcher to identify a family of interest. It is NOT intended to provide all of the information that is known on this family.
- A pedigree does not include any marriage information other than the wife’s name, and does not include any death information or any details on the wife.
- Our postings begin with the earliest known ancestor. This name will have a link to your complete posting on the Pedigree Forum.
- The researcher’s name and email address is important and is shown in black on the line with their earliest ancestor
- The Participant’s code identity will be shown in red on the last generation
