Surname DNA testing is the newest tool available to genealogists. These tests help genealogists verify their paternal ancestry (father's father) in a quick and easy way. It saves time, prevents mistakes, and provides invaluable data that can be obtained in no other way.
This Bankes - Banks- Bancks Family Project was started to:
1. Help researchers of common or related families worldwide to work together to find their common Bankes or Banks or Bancks heritage.
2. Identify the DNA of the ancestor families and compile them and their lost branches into distinct genetic lineages through DNA matches.
There is a separate web site with detailed information on the Banks project. Included there is information on how to order a DNA test and an explanation of the testing. Ray Banks is fully paying for DNA testing in some families.
As a bonus, there are also links there to detailed information on 28,000 deceased American Bankeses of mainly European ancestry. In addition, there are pictures and links to pictures of Bankses from earlier generations throughout the word, Banks web sites and to a lengthy Internet biography of General Nathaniel P. Banks. Information on over 12,000 British Bankses are also now available.
