Your Project's Forums

Use the Family Forum for your Surname Project.
 
World Families provides family forums for each Surname Project website.  It's a great way to communicate with other project members and with other researchers. 
 
You can access these forums by clicking the link "forums" in the black menu bar across the top of each page of the project's website.  Click the forum titled "Welcome" for information on using the family forum. 
 
Information about the Family Forums:
  • You must be registered and logged in to post on the forum. 
  • You may post anything that pertains to
    • Your family's genealogy
    • Your DNA research
    • A specific branch of the surname
  • To start a new "thread" (topic)
    • Go to the landing page by clicking the link "forums" in the black menu bar across the top of each page of the project's website.(It will show two subjects:  "Welcome" and "*** Family Pedigrees".
    • Click on "New Topic"
    • Be sure to make the Subject Line relate to your topic.
    • If you want email notification of any replies to your thread, please click the "Notify" button at the bottom of the page.
    • Please keep your postings related to genealogy and DNA testing. We ask that you use good manners, clean language and be polite.
  • Please use the WFN Forum's specific forums for general discussions about:
  • The project's Pedigree Forum can be accessed by
    • Clicking the link "Pedigrees" in the black menu bar across the top of each page of the project's website
    • Click the "forums" link in the black menu bar across the top of each page of the project's website, and then clicking "Family Pedigrees".
  • The Project's Pedigree Forums are provided for:

    1.  A Researcher who is not a member of the Surname DNA Project, but wishes to share a family pedigree can post it on the project's Pedigree Forum.  

    2.  A Project Member who wishes to post a more extended version of their pedigree to supplement the “stripped down” pedigree posted on the Patriarch Page may post the information on the project's Pedigree Forum.
