Sample Bulk Email: New Pedigree Posted on Patriarch Page

Sending bulk emails whenever there is anything new on the website is an excellent way to bring members back to the project website, allow members to see new developments in the project, and perhaps post a pedigree if they have not done so.   You will also want to send a bulk email to project members whenever there is a sale or a new product offered at FTDNA. 

 

  • You can access the "Bulk Email" tool at FTDNA through your GAP, under the heading "Project Administration" in the top menu bar. 
  • If some participants have not yet submitted a pedigree, ask them to do so.
  • If you find a connection in the pedigrees, make sure the participants are aware of it.  
  • Sample "New Pedigree Posted" message
  • Here is a sample "new results" email.  Feel free to use it or modify it as you wish. 

    Subject:  New Pedigree Posted for the __ DNA Project 

    Body: 

    This is a bulk email for all members of the Surname Project. 
    A new pedigree has recently been added to the Patriarch Page of the Project's website. Please take a moment to check it out and see if there is a connection to your family tree.
     

    Project's Patriarchs' Page: 

     

    The most important thing we do is to correlate genealogies to DNA results.  We will also use your earliest known ancestor, as shown on your pedigree, to identify your test results on the Results Page.  

     

    If you have not submitted a PEDIGREE for the Patriarchs’ page, you can send your pedigree for posting on the project’s Patriarchs’ Page by hitting “reply” and filling in this information:

    • Kit Number:
    • Email address to be posted with pedigree:
    • Name, birthdate, birthplace, spouse of Earliest Known Ancestor:
    • List each succeeding generation below, using only those four items of information (or substitute another item of information if missing an item)
