NOTE FROM MYSELF
James McGilton owned a windmill in Ballyhalbert called Clydesburn, originally built by his father James. It was demolished during the 2nd world war because it was in the way of the RAF planes that were based in the airfield behind.
He would receive compensation from the government, but with both parents, his wife Martha & daughter May all dead before that; he must have given up all hope and turned to drink when the government took away his home & livelihood.
