Thompson Family of Kendal, County Cumbria, England Moved to PEI in 1820's

I am looking for information on the ancestors of John and Mary Thompson of Kendal, England. They were the parents of my ancestor Paul Thompson Sr. who was born in 1782 in Kendal, County Cumbria, England.  He married Ann Dixon and they had eight children. The family moved to Prince Edward Island around 1821. Paul Sr. died at the age of 80 in 1862 in Prince Edward Island. His eldest son Paul Jr. (1814-1891)was born on February 16th, 1814 in Lockerbie, Scotland.  He died at the age of 77 on May 7th, 1891 in Prince Edward Island. Paul Jr. was my Great Great Grandfather. Paul Jr. had a son Paul (b. 1847-1916) who was my great grandfather. His son George Carroll Thompson (1879-1946) was my grandfather.
