McHarry/McWhinnie, Ballywalter/Greyabbey

[Hugh McHarry]

Alexander McHarry md Margaret McWhinnie (Mawhony), Ballywalter Pres.Church, 14 July 1804, and had children Francis (1805), Hugh (1807), William (abt 1808), Jane (1812), Sarah (1814), and James (1815).  All later lived in USA.  Alexander was said to have been born near Greyabbey in 1771.

It appears that McHarrie and McWhinnies were both Covenanter families who fled from S. Aryshire & Wigtownshire, Scotland, in about 1700.  I would be pleased to share info on both families and would appreciate any research advice.  I would also be pleased to share Y chromosome DNA results for McHarrys.

Also of David Reed who died Aguast [note spelling] ye 10 1759 aged 73 yrs.
Also 3 of their children, Hugh, Mary, and Margaret.
