i am trying to find a link with someone here. my earliest "known 'ancestor was robert sergeant b. 1799 married rachel faris, he lived in cecil county maryland. he is my gggggrandfather.. i need help finding  his dad.. there was something said about us being related to a capt. john sergeant born 1753..but cant verify that...my haplogroup is i1.. if anybody knows of this line pleae help.

Cecil County and Frederick Co are about 100 miles apart and John Sargent (below) was born in 1753 in Frederick Co.

Here's the first known immigrant to Maryland:
