Research is showing that there were 2 different Nathanial Pipers,  in the peninsula in 1870's. Both married, and as widowers, married 2 Palmer's widow Susan and Sarah.

The older Pipers lived at "Island Bawn" a farm running into the bogs, they were drained for an aerodrome for the 2nd world war.  This is now  Kirkistown race course. http://www.kirkistown.com/
