Does this designation put me firmly in a particular national, or ethnic group?

My mtDNA is B2.

In my opinion, all R1b1b2s should order FTDNA's Deep Clade-R test (there's a link on your "Haplotree" page). R1b1b2 expanded so rapidly during the Neolithic Period and the Bronze Age that it is difficult to sort it out without the SNP testing the Deep Clade-R provides.

Your data match those of a Mexican, really living in El Paso, Ernie Alderete, that probably is your name. He says that he descends from Moctezuma, certainly not by the masculine line, being his DNA without doubt of European extraction.

Certainly if your paternal line comes from Spain, your haplotype would be very interesting, matching you also the slow markers of R-ht 35 (not completely of course: you haven't DYS393=12, etc.)
