Here lieth the mortal remains of William Savage of Newcastle, [This is the town land near P/ferry and not the resort],
distinguished during a short life of 50 yrs., the exercise of the witness of the man and the grace of a Christian.
His death on the 18th Sept, 1837 deprived his family of an affectionate relative, his acquaintance of an improving companion
the poor of a charitable friend, society of a bright ornament, the Church of a zealous member, and the world of an honest man
Reader, mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace.
Also his wife Margaret savage alias SHANKS who died 19th May 1855 aged 65 yrs.
Also their grand-daughter Margaret Savage who dept. this life 25th April 1872 aged 13 years and 5 mths.
Also his daughter Jane WATSON alias Savage who died 16th Oct. 1888 aged 68 yrs.
Also his son William Savage who died 5th February 1892 aged 70 yrs.
Also Margaret Savage Watson, grand-daughter of the first William Savage, died 3rd Dec. 1918
William COULTER died 21st. Jan. 1944.

Margaret died 12th october 1841 aged 4 yrs.
Eliza died 28th July 1845 aged 6 yrs.
Samuel died 29th July 1845 aged 3 yrs [NOTE 1 DAY BETWEEN THESE DEATHS]
Hugh Langtry died 15th August 1856 aged 5 mths.
Also above named John Savage who died 28th March 1860 aged 52 yrs.
Also his son James died at Benin, West coast of Africa , on 29th August 1865 age 21 yrs.
Henry McDonnell Savage died at Chicago 6th Oct. 1883 aged 23 yrs.
John savage died at Glasgow 1st. Sept. 1893 aged 36 yrs, sons of the above.
Elizabeth Savage alias McDONNELL, wife and mother of the above, who died 24th August 1901 aged 84 yrs.
