Here lyeth the body of Mareyann MECORMICK, wife to John Brown of Maghryscoose who died Jan. the 8th 1756 aged 78 yrs.
Likewise their grandchild Mary Brown who died June 4th. 1764 in ye 5th year of her life.
Magherascouce is between Ballygowan and Comber Co. Down

Here lieth the body of Hugh Brown who died Dec. 20th 1757 aged 78 yrs. Also Soffie STEWART his wife who died Jan. 2nd 1774 age 77 yrs.
Also John Brown their son who died May 5th 1751 age 25 yrs.

[Above]. Erected in memory of Joseph Brown of Portavogie who dept. this life 26th June 1868 aged 57 yrs.
His life was distinguished by urbanity, simplicity, and benevolence. His charitable contributions during life to the industrious poor of all persuasions,
and for the maintenance of non-sectarian education were not more striking and meritorious than the large legacies which he left perpetuity for
these important objects, and for the support of all his old and faithful servants.
Note from Lena McVea; I can remember when Portavogie Primary School gave every child a Christmas envelope with a gift of money enclosed, from the Brown Trust. Ballyhalbert School also received gifts of money as did other schools on the Peninsula. I think it might still be the same today.

Also his wife Jane Brown alias HUNTER who died 9th August 1864 aged 75 yrs.
Also his daughter Ann Brown who died 29th Sept. 1872 aged 62 yrs.
Also his daughter Nancy Brown who died 14th May 1881 aged 68 yrs.
Also his son John Brown formerly of Ballylimp & Portavogie who died in
Newtownards on the 17th October 1882 aged 72 yrs. Be ye also ready.
Here lieth the body of David Brown of Ballyhalbert who died the 1st Feb. 1815 aged 67 yrs.
Also his wife Mary McDOWELL who died 29th Aug. 1825 aged 81 yrs.

John aged 3 mths. both died 25th Oct. 1777.
