John Martin Yarbrough born 1861, died Oct. 3, 1900

My great grandfather, John Martin Yarbrough was born in 1861 in Alabama and died October 3, 1900 in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana.  My great grandmother, Ella Clark Spear was born April 10, 1863 and died in 1904.  They were married Feb. 19, 1883.  I believe his father was James E. Yarbrough (born in South Carolina), who was married to Mollie L. (born in Alabama in 1842).

I am trying to find out any other info. about previous Yarbrough kin.  I especially want to find out if James E. Yarbrough was my g-g grandfather and if he served in the Confederacy.  I am trying to join the United Daughters of the Confederacy and have to have this info. to join.
