Ah, but was he U106 or P312? That is the question.
I ran that haplotype in YSearch, adjusting H4 from 12 to 11 because of the conversion. There was an exact match with a man with the surname Godfrey who has 67 markers, including 492=12, and who traces his ancestry to Ireland.
I'm not sure how much that means, but U106 is almost universally 492=13.
