Y DNA of Czar Nicholas II is R1b (probably R1b1b2 of some kind)

I ran that haplotype in Whit Athey's Y Haplogroup Predictor and it came out as "R1b" (probably R1b1b2 of some kind).

Nicholas II, although called a "Romanov", was the y-line descendant of the German-Scandinavian Dukes of Holstein-Gottorp (modern Schleswig-Holstein at the south end of the Jutland Peninsula).

I ran that haplotype in YSearch, adjusting H4 from 12 to 11 because of the conversion. There was an exact match with a man with the surname Godfrey who has 67 markers, including 492=12, and who traces his ancestry to Ireland.

I'm not sure how much that means, but U106 is almost universally 492=13.
